PRESS RELEASE

The Board of Directors of the NorthEast Digital Learning Association  is excited to announce that Dr. Douglas J Koch has become the new President of NEDLA effective October 1, 2021. Steve Hart, current President, and an original Board member will step down after more than 20 years of leadership. Louis Stricoff, current Executive Director and PADLA/NEDLA founder, will also retire from his position. Dr. Rod Murray, who serves as the Director of Technology, will be stepping down shortly but remain on the Board to help with the transition. After his departure, he will join Steve Hart and Lou Stricoff as Board Members Emeriti.

Steve Hart stated, "We are thrilled that Doug has agreed to take on the leadership of NEDLA at this consequential moment in our history. The pandemic has significantly increased the demand for ongoing high quality and effective online learning among all of NEDLA's membership segments. Doug will continue our strong tradition of service and build a supportive learning community among our members. Both Lou and I will work hard with Doug to ensure a smooth transition. We wish Doug all the very best as he steps into this new leadership role."

Louis Stricoff stated, "Doug is the very best choice for NEDLA's future, exhibiting both a proven enthusiasm for the mission of the organization and advancement of the Digital Learning profession. This is a perfect time for a change in leadership and an opportunity for others to bring a fresh perspective to our professional community. As I have stated often, Thank You All for your continuing support."

The Board is also pleased to announce that Dr. Dominique Kliger will remain as Vice President and continue to provide leadership as the organization transitions into its third decade. Doug, Dominque, At Large member Susan Darlington, and Treasurer Brian McCauly believe the change in leadership at NEDLA provides a wonderful opportunity for you, our members, to step up and help the organization continue our learning services and grow NEDLA to a new level.
