PADLA is excited to present the timely workshop “Actionable Tips and Tricks to Teaching Online in Real Time.” This 90-minute highly interactive online workshop is NOT a webinar, a Zoom tutorial, or a product sales pitch.

You’ve learned the buttons to push to show your webcam, use your mic, and share your screen. That’s great! Now what? How can those and other features translate to interactive instructional activities? How can you engage learners of all kinds and levels in a way that’s sound and enables learning?

Our presenters, Gary Dietz and Shannon Forte, bring their collective 35 years of knowledge and skills in educational technology to PADLA. They will introduce you to the most important elements to consider when converting your physical experience to the real-time collaboration segments of virtual classrooms.

After this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify why and when to use real-time sessions to support offline instruction
  • Convert “broadcast PowerPoint + lecture” into interactive instructional activities
  • Leverage key capabilities that are not commonly explained in purely “how to use web conferencing” tutorials
  • Identify key characteristics that make an online activity suitable for real-time interaction
  • Describe key educationally sound ways real-time collaboration can be used during instruction
  • Develop five activities that can be used immediately in almost any real time collaboration platform
  • Adapt the content and approaches to create new activities for students and have an additional perspective on the flipped classroom

Tips and tricks learned here can be put to immediate use in your virtual classrooms today and for years to come.

Seats are limited!

These 90-minute sessions cost $30 for General Admission & Corporate attendees, $20 for higher education attendees, and $15 for K-12 and other non-profit organizations.
