Now that the Holiday hubbub has finally settled down it is time for all  Learning Technology professionals to get back to our mission of improving human performance in the classroom & boardroom.

To kick-off 2020, you are cordially invited to share your expertise  curiosity with our professional community by registering for our next event hosted by Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday February 13th.

Presentations include:

"Active Learning Using Innovative Spaces": Presented by Patrick Trainer, Director of User Services

Patrick Trainer is the Director of User Services at Gwynedd Mercy University where he leads a team of IT specialists and technicians.  Patrick has spent his entire career in the technology field, primarily in systems and network administration.  He is currently enrolled in Gwynedd’s online Bachelor of Business Administration program.

"Active Learning Strategies for the Online Classroom": Presented by Dr. Desiree Caldwell and Dr. Tiffany Cresswell-Yeager: Assistant Professors

Dr. Desiree' Caldwell is an Assistant Professor in the Master Teacher program at Gwynedd Mercy University. She is also a dissertation advisor for doctoral students. With a background in elementary education, her teaching experience spans 15 years and includes a variety of grade levels in both elementary and middle school settings. Her primary focus at the middle school level was English Language Arts. Desiree' also spent 5 years as an adjunct professor in the Master Teacher program at Gwynedd Mercy University before becoming a full-time faculty member. Desiree' earned her Ed.D. in General Education from Northcentral University and her Master’s Degree in Education from Cabrini University. Desiree’ is also a Distinctive Mercy Graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Her research interests include effective online teaching strategies, faculty development for online instructors, and tracking the progress of student teachers from the beginning of their journey through their first few years of teaching. Her professional memberships include Kappa Delta Pi, Kappa Gamma Pi, and PAC-TE.

Dr. Tiffany Cresswell-Yeager has been teaching in the doctoral program at Gwynedd Mercy since 2018. Before joining the faculty at Gwynedd Mercy, she taught courses in organizational, multicultural, and leadership communication, as well as intercultural community building and leadership development. She has facilitated numerous presentations and workshops on leadership, student engagement in teaching, and higher education. Her higher education research interests include student leadership development, first year experience and first generation college students' college choice. In addition, she has more than 20 years of administrative experience supervising and leading Student Affairs, Enrollment, Crisis Management/Counseling, Student Conduct, Development and Alumni Relations, Marketing and Athletics. She earned a Ph.D. in leadership and administration in sociology from IUP and earned her master's degree in education in training and development and her bachelor's degree in journalism from Penn State.
