Biography
Alisa Martin Leighton works as a therapist in Early Intervention in the Hudson County region in New Jersey. Alisa has been in the field of education for 32 years. She was born in Brooklyn, New York where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at The City College of New York. She also received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at The Bank Street College of Education in New York. Alisa has a Standard Certification for Teacher of the Handicapped birth to 21 years of age in New Jersey and a Supervision Certification in New Jersey.
Alisa has attained her doctorate degree in Educational Technology Leadership and is currently in the Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultants (LDTC) program at New Jersey City University. She is also the Special Needs Consultant for the NJCU Day Care Center and a Adjunct Professor at NJCU.
